Prosthetic dentistry is concerned with missing
teeth in dentition. This field is of vital importance due to aesthetic reasons
as well as protection against mouth function defects, such as chewing or
speech.
Our surgeries provide complex service of prosthetic restoration, both
permanent and removable. Fixed dentures are permanently connected to the
patient's teeth.
The elements of prosthetics dental treatment
are:
- crown-root
inlays - applied when severe damage the pulp of teeth occurs. The condition for
crown-root inlay insertion is prior root canal therapy,
- prosthetic crown - fixed prosthetic restoration
placed on both vital and dead teeth after their prior grinding. They are used
in the case of severe damage of the pulp of the teeth which cannot be restored
by applying filling materials,
- prosthetic bridges - fixed dentition of
missing teeth parts,
- inlay,
onlay - ready made porcelain filling,
- dentures
Dentures can be divided into:
- removable dentures - placed on
foundation and removed by the patient (frame denture, functionally unstable
denture, overdenture)
- fixed dentures - permanently connected to
pillar teeth
With regards to material, we distinguish the
following types of dentures:
- metal
- acrylic
- porcelain
- metal-acrylic
- metal-porcelain
